1997 Mercedes-Benz E420 - W210 5-Passenger Sedan is for sale. $7500 cash only. Firm price. The price is above Blue Book because this particular model and year was a variant of the W210 E-Class sedan. This car unlike the other W210 E-Class has an S-Class engine. S in German stands for “Sonderklasse” or “special class” which denotes the company’s flagship luxury sedan, positioned above other models. This particular model has the M119.985 powerplant, which has a 4.2L V8 engine. That’s the quad cam, 32 valve, with an output of 279 HP and 295 lb ft of torque coupled to the 722.6 five speed automatic transmission which makes it a lively drive! The M119 was produced from the late 80’s until the early 2000’s. M119 is known for being a durable and powerful engine that powered many Mercedes Benz performance vehicles. This car has plenty of power and is solid from the inside out. You will feel very safe and always be comfortable on those long rides. From a cosmetic standpoint and to make the car near perfect, you will need to spend money to fix all the little incidentals but in my humble opinion, the M119 engine alone, makes this classic, exceptionally made German auto worth the asking price. There were 31,159 of this year produced. In 1998, Mercedes switched to the W210 E430.
Passed smog check vehicle inspection on 01/10/2024.
Color: Smoke Silver and Parchment Leather interior.

All mechanical items listed in the attached Description of Automobile I believe, are in working order. Below is a list and description of cosmetic or mechanical issues. I list repairs recommended by two mechanics and the repairs that I had done.
Outside of car:
Right front low spoiler cracked and damage. Cost to replace ~$290.
Multiple small dings on chrome and body of car and on wind shield, light scratches here and there and especially on rear bumper. There is one very noticeable vertical scratch on back trunk lid that is superficial. Body paint is good all around with normal wear and stabile delamination on the roof rails, rearview mirrors and top of front bumper.
Undercarriage of car appears in good condition without signs of rust or oil leaking that I can see.
Tires are nearing their end of life and all four alloys rims show normal wear.
Inside of car:
Small cracks on front dashboard where they normally crack.
Crack on rear view mirror holder
Burl walnut cover to access cup holder is sometimes sticky and difficult to open/close.
Very small crack in walnut burl on center console and difficult to see.
