Meet the most adorable twin nubian girls!
Vinney and Joey. Their mother is named Robbie, so we kept the names going.

Robbie is an exceptional doe! While she is a 1st time mother, she comes from our 5th generation proven lines!

Why do we charge so much for a goat?

Our does have been proven for milking production and longevity of milking. When selected correctly, we'll care for our goats' milk up to their 10th birthday 🎂 🥳!

If you're new to milking goats 🐐 you might not understand all the things that can go wrong with goats and their udders.

1st is diseases. We test all our goats for cae, Cl, and johnes. These diseases can be "hidden" and only reveal themselves under stress, or you can have a "silent" shed, a goat who infects your herd without them being symptomatic. We save you hundreds by helping eliminate the problem before it starts!

Let's talk udders. You need to milk goats before you can appreciate a "beautiful udder." 😍

Besides a teat located in the center of the udder, there should only be one per side. It is not a "fault" to have a short teat, but we selectively breed for a teat long enough to hand milk.

Then we have to make sure that the udder structure holds the udder above the hocks, soft enough tissue the the udder is easily to manipulate but not too soft where the udder "blows out." You never want tubular udders in milking goats. They tend to elongated over time, which then risk higher rates of infections or mastitis. All that tend to be "career" ending for does.

Now let talk about the opening of the of the teats. They need to be large enough to let milk flow through easily, but not too loose where they drip milk or let bacteria enter. They need to point directly down. Not off to the side, pointing to the front or the rear. We've all milked the animal where milk flies in one direction for one teat and the opposite direction for the other. It's not very much fun.

There is so much more! This is just a small window into what we put into our goats.

The cost for our goats in the last 16 years of breeding has gone up some some🤌400% yet our prices have only gone up 20%-30%.

As you can guess, any breeder is having a hard time breaking, even never mind "making money."🤑

We don't get compensation for our time or energy with the goats. We purely love our goats.

The average goat owners have them less than 5 years!

When you see an established breeder, that means they have poured a lot into their herd.

Simply put, there are always "bargains" goats out there or cheap quick sales, but there is normally a good reason. Many tend to be unfavorable 😱 for the new owner. You might need to spend a year or more cleaning up an unhealthy 😭🤢🤮 goat or contaminate ☠️💩 your property permanently by bringing home a cheap goat! 🐐

I know anyone who has taken the time to read this is truly interested in getting the best goat they can afford. With that said, our prices are set to help offset our cost in maintaining a small health herd. Thank you for your interest ☺️.

We offer new owner support and education with the purchase of our goats!

If you want support outside of purchasing a goat, we offer phone consultations for a fee.

Happy goating!🐐
