Wee Thrive/ Early Education Lead Instructors
Seeking a Mary Poppins type to create a beautiful, secure, caring, fun part time learning environment for 4.9 to 7 year old homeschoolers. Our children attend 2 or 3 days of Wee Thrive and homeschool with their families the other days. Wee Thrive is open M-Th with a rotating group of little ones working on social skills, early education basics like shapes, colors and letters with lots of time for stories, songs and imaginative play.
We are looking for caring, organized and energetic individuals to create and lead the daily flow of this class. Must be ready and capable of being the lead instructor. This includes keeping safety standards, leading circle time with stories and songs, leading projects and activities, child supervision, setting and keeping the daily schedule and positive communication with the children and families.
1 or 2 positions available. To start part time and may move to full time as desired/needed. Applicants must be available to work either M,W or T, Th between 10:45am to 3:30pm. Preferred availability would be Mondays thru Thursdays 9:15am to 4:45pm. Full availability would make this a 24 hour per week job and could be more if you’re interested. Two day a week availability would make this a 12 hour per week position. This could be a school year or year round position dependent on availability.
We also run academic and enrichment classes before and after Wee Thrive which the applicant may be interested in leading for additional hours and responsibilities.
Guide children through academic, enrichment and social learning
lead a class of 12 to 18 students with an assistant
direct day to day supervision of students and implementation of projects, activities and curriculum.
Organize classrooms and projects
Possibly instructing additional classes in the themes of your choice (anything from sewing to science to painting to electronics)
Create a relationship with each family and student so that you can greet them each morning and connect them at the end of the day
Ensure safety of students and families
Follow safety procedures and suggest changes when necessary
Render first aid when needed.
Monitor daily attendance and know where students are at all times
Ability to work respectfully with students and provide loving boundaries
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate well with both students and parents
Ability to remember names and details to form strong bonds with students and families
Ability to work independently, create curriculum and projects
Organizational skills for materials and student scheduling
Ability to deal effectively with conflict and resolution
Effective communication with supervisor, staff, parents and students
Attend all required Staff Meetings and Trainings with Thrive
Upkeep of facility including some maintenance and custodial
Responsible for inventory of equipment and supplies
Responsible for working within the program budget and guidelines
Order and purchase necessary supplies
Consistently networking for new students. May be asked to attend recruiting events.
Promote and publicize program in a positive manner
Make recommendations for improvement to the Thrive team and director as needed
QUALIFICATIONS: 6 to 12 ECE units. At least 1 year experience with preschool or early elementary aged children and their families is preferred. Preferences will be given to candidates with advanced education, ECE units, experience with alternative education specifically homeschooling, Self-Directed Education and/or Waldorf or Montessori. Above all, you must highly value facilitating learning with children through respect and connection.
CPR/First Aid training must be current and in place before your first day of work. Must pass a fingerprint clearance.
