This is a very old drop leaf pine table that splits in the middle so leaves can be added. There are 3 leaves. And a 5th leg is in the middle for support. It is called a gate leg table. A wonderful element about the drop leaf table is that it takes up very little space when the 2 side leaves are down which makes it a great table as an end table or in a small dining room but will make up into over a 8'-9' table to eat on. I had it for years in a fishing cabin, we would pull it out onto the deck and have 10+ people around it to eat. I used it to sew on and open it all up and have lots of space on top to cut fabric and to sew fabric. And I used it as at an end of a couch with a lamp on it because closed up it is very thin. A great old utilitarian table I estimate from late 1880s-1930s era. $90.00. I have had this table for over 35 years and it has always been the most useful and good looking antique table I have ever had.
