Administrative Coordinator - Sunshine Kids Club (Chico, CA)

JOB DESCRIPTION
Sunshine Kids Club Administrative Coordinator

MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH A TOTALLY UNIQUE ORGANIZATION
Sunshine Kids Club (SKC) is a fully inclusive non-profit organization, serving children with and without disabilities. It is designed to foster self-esteem, empower kids and promote advocacy and acceptance for all children ages 5-18. The main goal of the Sunshine Kids Club is to provide a place for kids to “Just Be Yourself!" All too often there are programs designed specifically either for children with disabilities or for typical children. If there is any integration offered to children with disabilities into the programs designed for typical children, it is often trying to have the children with disabilities try to be a part of typical activities. However, this is just another hindrance for the child with a disability to be who they truly are. Reciprocally, programs designed for children with disabilities do not integrate typical children into them, further isolating the child with a disability from other children. The Sunshine Kids Club has designed activities for all children to participate in, with or without disabilities. It's a place for children to feel comfortable with each other and their surroundings no matter who they are. SKC is not a therapeutic program aimed at “fixing” the kids. It is a place where “it is all about the kids having fun”. We measure success in laughter and smiles and in newly gained self-esteem.
