Job Title: Volunteer Coordinator
Part-Time (25 hours per week) beginning $10.00/hr, Tuesday through Saturday
Primary Responsibilities
Recruit, trains and schedules volunteers for shelter, animal enrichment, outreach, foster, marketing, and administrative activities.
Maintain ongoing interaction with volunteers and staff.
Develop internship positions, recruit interns and coordinate their training, supervision and integration.
Maintain and utilize Volgistics volunteer management system to track, contact and schedule volunteers.
Prepare monthly reports on volunteer hours and activities for BHS Board of Directors.
Develop and maintain training schedule and informational resources for all volunteer opportunities.
With other BHS staff, coordinate advanced training opportunities, training materials, and ongoing assessment and coaching of volunteers.
Identify volunteer needs within organization, with the help of other BHS staff.
Develop and maintain volunteer appreciation activities.
Assist with organization of outreach events, special events and mobile adoptions.
With Outreach & Events Coordinator, staff all special events.
Education/Experience Required:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Training experience required.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent computer skills with ability to learn and manage Volgistics software system.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
General knowledge of animal welfare preferred.
Desire to make a positive difference in the lives of animals and people.
